First Look at The CW’s Flash Costume

So everyone loves the Flash; he’s the most relaxed, funny, and generally likable superhero in the DC Comic universe. It’s awesome that he will finally be represented on screen in the modern era, and holds even more promise because of how good Arrow has been so far for its first two seasons.

I’m not totally sold on Gustin yet, only because I haven’t seen him in anything, but from the little bit we saw in Arrowhe seemed fine.

I definitely love this picture though, the head part of the suit looks awesome and about as good as I could have imagined it. Hopefully a full body picture is released soon and the entire costume can be revealed!

What do you think?

True Detective Could Possibly Have Female Leads

Right now True Detective is the hottest show on television and has really been blowing myself and countless others away with it’s amazing first season so far.

There are only two episodes left, and sadly, it means only two episode left of McConaughey and Harrelson as one of the best duos on T.V. The biggest question on my mind, and soon everyone’s, is who will follow up these two and be the focus of season two?

In an article found here, creator Nic Pizzolatto responds to a tweet about female characters, leaving the fan with the open-ended, “Next season…” Obviously this is no guarantee, but at least cool to know that the writers are open to having any types of detectives.  Pizzolatto has done such an amazing job with the writing so far in this first season, so I’m sure that whoever signs on for season two will have a great character written for them.

True Detective has been everything I expected and so much more. There are still two episodes left in this season that I am massively anticipating (as I’m sure you all are), but I can’t help but think a little bit about what will come next from this show.

Either way, I’m excited to hear ideas for season two and will report more as soon as they come in!

Also check out my review of last night’s episode, “Haunted Houses” right here!

Get Pumped for The Vision!

Get Pumped for The Vision!

So the news hit last night that Paul Bettany, the voice of JARVIS in the Iron Man movies and The Avengers, will be taking his role in the MCU to the next level by playing the Vision in Avengers: Age of Ultron!

Yes! It’s true, and I’m so happy to hear that they will be including the super AI hero who largely ties into the Ultron story line (for those who don’t know).  He also is widely known for having a relationship with The Scarlet Witch who will be in the film as well (portrayed by Elizabeth Olsen).

The article I’m sharing gives a little more insight into the Vision and talks about the first ideas for his costume! I think that it sounds pretty cool so  far.  I trust Joss, and he knows that this is a character they are going to have to take baby steps with to portray him correctly.

I think a dark and subtle green and yellow will look really awesome, but would love to see the red face as well.  That will for sure be the toughest part, getting the face correct, which they discuss in the article.

Either way, the inclusion of the VIsion has me even more excited for Avengers: Age of Ultron to come out! Check the article and let me know what you think!

Studio Ghibli to Produce First TV Series

Studio Ghibli to Produce First TV Series

This awesome article from The Hollywood Reporter released yesterday (that I saw but didn’t get to read until now) that Hayao Miyazaki’s studio will be pushing forward with a TV series based on the Swedish kid’s book “Ronja the Robber’s Daughter.” I think this looks awesome and has an adventurous story that fits perfectly with Studio Ghibli’s past works.

Miyazaki’s son will be directing the show which is set to premiere this fall in Japan.

R.I.P. Philip Seymour Hoffman

Between getting my school work done, hitting up the art museum, and then watching the Super Bowl, I wasn’t really on technology that much yesterday, so I apologize for the tardiness of this post.  Sadly, I discovered from a friend that Philip Seymour Hoffman had passed away at 46 from a heroin overdose in his apartment.  I, like most, was shocked and dumbfounded at the news of this actor I loved falling victim to such a harmful drug.

It’s sad to see someone who was so great in  The MasterPirate Radio, Doubt, Capote, and so many more types of film disappear in an instant.  Personally, Pirate Radio is one of my favorite films and PSH kills it as The Count, countin’ down from 10… yet, he was also able to give us award worthy performances in movies like Doubt or Capote.

It’s sad to lose such a talented actor.

New Batsuit will be “Total Reinvention”

New Batsuit will be “Total Reinvention”

I found this article about Jennifer Garner claiming the new Batsuit is a “total reinvention” and “unbelievably cool”. I hope they don’t screw this up. I can’t see Ben Affleck doing anything too extreme, and all I’ve really seen him say so far is he likes the shorter ears from the Batman Noel Batsuit, which I think is cool.

I wonder when we’ll get to see the first images of the Batfleck, and even Wonder Woman too.  I’m definitely excited to see the next installment to DC’s movie universe, but really hope they can do it right. Maybe the 10 month delay is because they really want to take their time.  I hope.

25 X-Men: Days of Future Past Empire Covers

Empire magazine celebrated its 25th anniversary by releasing 25 X-Men: Days of Future Past character covers yesterday. You can check them out here on slashfilm.com. I still have to read the Days of Future Past comic (I know, I know…) but am really excited for the film.  I think most of the costumes look good; future Wolverine with that body armor looks sweet, Fassbender looks awesome, even the sentinels look mean.  Like I said, these covers are really solid looking.

The one problem I have.  The single cover that I hate! Although it could possibly be considered the most important of them all!

Quicksilver.

Yuck!

I guess he kinda looks futuristic? Right? With all the shiny silver and the nifty goggles and gadgets? I know it’s tough to do the silver hair thing and make it look good but I just don’t like the costume they’ve set him up in.  Obviously, this doesn’t relate to Evan Peters’ acting capabilities, so he could still be great in the role.  The costume just feels fake and reminds me of this.

I guess we’ll just have to wait and see… X-Men: Days of Future Past looks sweet and pretty much all of the covers have me excited to see both X-Men movie cast combine.

RUMOR! Jon Hamm Possibly Cast as Marvel’s Dr. Strange!

RUMOR! Jon Hamm Possibly Cast as Marvel’s Dr. Strange!

This article popped up from ThisisInfamous.com reporting that Mad Men’s Jon Hamm has been cast as the Sorcerer Supreme, Doctor Stephen Strange.  This is only a rumor for now, and there has been no official comment or announcement from Marvel yet.  A decent amount of actors have been tied to rumors surrounding the role, such as, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Patrick Dempsey, Timothy Olyphant, and most recently Johnny Depp.

Hopefully Marvel will release the news sometime soon considering that they have recently been making many casting announcements with Michael Douglas and MIchael Peña signing on with Ant-Man and Thomas Kretschmann as Baron Strucker in Avengers 2, but for now we will just have to wait and treat this as a rumor.

First Trailer for The Amazing Spider-Man 2!

Holy smokes this trailer really made The Amazing Spider-Man 2 become one of the top movies I’m looking forward to. So many things were in this trailer! You have Peter talk about more people out to get him and how they are more powerful, so we get three villains in this one. Rhino, Electro, and the Goblin!! I think that the Goblin will come into play towards the end and only serve one evil purpose.

Then in the background at OsCorp there was clearly the Doc Ock arms and Vulture wings!! That is huge and very exciting as well!

This movie looks awesome after this first trailer so check it out!

Story Spotlight: Monsters & Mustaches

Hey everyone!

If you enjoy reading really creative stories and have some spare time, I encourage you to check out  Monsters & Mustaches

Monsters & Mustaches

There are currently four stories available to read, but they are posted as chapters, which makes it easy for everyone to go at their own pace or find an appropriate stopping point rather than keeping an open internet tab of long text so you don’t lose your spot. The chapters are nice lengths and the stories are unique and usually [but not always] come with some pictures that are drawn by the author.

I really love the concept though and it’s nice to read some freshly creative stories. Another reason these stories are awesome is because they are well thought out and  all exist in the same universe, sometimes causing characters to pop up in different places.  This just adds more depth and flowing continuity to the M&M story-verse and makes it fun to keep reading.

If you’re in the mood for some fun short stories, definitely check these out!
