RUMOR! Jon Hamm Possibly Cast as Marvel’s Dr. Strange!
This article popped up from ThisisInfamous.com reporting that Mad Men’s Jon Hamm has been cast as the Sorcerer Supreme, Doctor Stephen Strange. This is only a rumor for now, and there has been no official comment or announcement from Marvel yet. A decent amount of actors have been tied to rumors surrounding the role, such as, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Patrick Dempsey, Timothy Olyphant, and most recently Johnny Depp.
Hopefully Marvel will release the news sometime soon considering that they have recently been making many casting announcements with Michael Douglas and MIchael Peña signing on with Ant-Man and Thomas Kretschmann as Baron Strucker in Avengers 2, but for now we will just have to wait and treat this as a rumor.
Holy smokes this trailer really made The Amazing Spider-Man 2 become one of the top movies I’m looking forward to. So many things were in this trailer! You have Peter talk about more people out to get him and how they are more powerful, so we get three villains in this one. Rhino, Electro, and the Goblin!! I think that the Goblin will come into play towards the end and only serve one evil purpose.
Then in the background at OsCorp there was clearly the Doc Ock arms and Vulture wings!! That is huge and very exciting as well!
This movie looks awesome after this first trailer so check it out!
Here’s a video with a quick preview to the upcoming episode of Arrow that introduces Barry Allen a.k.a. The Flash. This gives DC fans a first glimpse of what’s to come from the next installment of their TV Universe. I think the last I heard was that the Flash tv show will not relate to the planned Flash and Justice League movies.
I like the majority of what Arrow is doing and I’ve noticed a lot of similarities to Nolan’s Dark Knight Trilogy. I like how they are building the show so far, and hopefully the Flash can follow this structure.
Michael B. Jordan cast as the Human Torch!
Well, we knew that actor Michael B. Jordan expressed his interest to play Johnny Storm in the planned reboot of the Fantastic Four franchise, and today that seems to have come true. Over at schmoesknow.com, they report that a trusted source has confirmed Jordan will, in fact, portray the cocky, awesome, bad boy.
I think that this is an awesome choice because Jordan is a good actor. I first saw him in Friday Night Lights and thought he was the best part of the later seasons, and within this past year, he’s really started to be in a lot of good movies too.
I’m excited to here Jordan be yelling, “Flame on!” are you?
Is Bryan Cranston Officially Lex Luthor?
An article has surfaced saying that Bryan Cranston has supposedly signed a 6 picture deal with Warner Bros. to play Lex Luthor in MoS2 and other DC movies like the Justice League. The article seems to think that in some films he would play more of a Nick Fury type role where he will appear but not necessarily be focused on.
Just remember that this isn’t official just yet. I’m really hoping that it is, because we all know Cranston can turn into one mean motherfucker and I love it. He would be great in the role, so now we just have to wait and see!
Today some pictures his the web that gives us a clear up close look at Michael Rooker all blue-ed out for his role of Yondu in next years Guardians of the Galaxy film. I’m super pumped for this movie, the ’08 Guardians run got me back into comics and Star-Lord is my favorite hero. Rooker is looking good though, check out the full reel of photos by clicking on the picture!
Affleck is Batman!
Wow, so as I’m packing more stuff for school, I come back and just like that….BOOM, Ben Affleck goes from being a candidate who “doesn’t have much interest” to landing the role. Honestly, I have no idea how to feel about this. I love Ben Affleck, not totally for his acting though. He looks the part for sure, but I just can’t picture his voice fitting the almighty Bruce Wayne, yet, half of me thinks it could be okay? I have no idea right now. Either way, huge announcement because DC is really getting their universe into shape and this Batman choice is going to be at least for a couple of movies. He’ll appear in Man of steel 2, then the Justice League, and after that we will certainly have more Batman films.
I guess we’ll have to wait and see…
Marvel Popularity Infograph!
Check out this awesome infographic that shows which characters are creating the most buzz among people. It breaks into the top 10 of the Avengers, Mutants, Villains, and Cosmic characters. The data is reflecting the past 30 days, so it’s recent, which is nice!
Bryan Cranston as…. Lex Luthor?
After being rumored as a possible contender for the role, everyone’s favorite meth mastermind is speaking up about wanting to play Lex Luthor in the next Superman movie. That’s right, Bryan Cranston wants the role,
“Give me a call. I like Lex Luthor. I think he’s misunderstood. He’s a lovable, sweet man.”
Hell yeah, this would be so awesome! We’ll just have to wait and see!
Jim Carey in The Amazing Spider-Man 2?
This article popped up about how back in March this picture of Jim Carey on the set of the Amazing Spider-Man 2 popped up. An unknown insider started posting about how a big comedic actor has been cast in a minor role that would be important for the next two movies.
Speculation seems to think it will be J. Jonah Jameson or Kletus Kassady a.k.a. Carnage. I read elsewhere that the institute for the criminally insane, Ravencroft, where Kassady is a prisoner, is going to play a part in the upcoming film. Carey could easily be featured or minorly teased at and then return as a Carnage, which would be awesome!
